I always look forward to the grade 4 students' Book Talk presentations. They come up with some very creative costumes and props and are quite fun to listen to as well. This year, we had some puppet shows, some great costumes and some awesome props. Way to go grade 4's! In science, to culminate their study on sound, students had to design and construct a musical instrument that demonstrated one property of sound. They came up with some pretty original ideas. Next up in science class...the properties of light.

Our classroom Christmas market today was a great success! The students worked hard on their hand-made items and things were selling like crazy. We had a variety of items, from hand-made comic books, slime, stuffies, christmas ornaments, cookies, pencil holders, puppets, cupcakes, bookmarks...you name it. I was really impressed! Great job grade 4's! I look forward to the next market :) A few weeks back the students created these pictures inspired by Canadian artist Ted Harrison. They learned how Harrison used lots of bold colours, warm colours in the sky and cooler colours for the landscape, as well as lots of lines in his artwork. He lived in the Yukon and often painted an Inukshuk in his work. Students used pastels to create their pieces. What do you think?
