And that's a wrap on the 2018/2019 school year! I am so proud of all of the grade 4 students and how hard they worked this year! I will really miss hanging out with these guys all day and teaching them.

Students learned about the different types of rocks in science class these past few weeks. They brought in some samples and were also able to observe some of our school's different rock and mineral samples. Our final classroom market was a success. There were a variety of items from snow cones to homemade magnets, bookmarks, popcorn and lots of yummy treats!
Last week we had a very special moment in class...we got to see a butterfly come out of its chrysalis! All the students stopped what they were doing and we gathered around the enclosure very quietly to watch in awe. It was awesome! Now that all of our 6 chrysalises have hatched, it was time to let our butterflies go into the wild. Today we went outside and said goodbye to our butterflies one by one. Over the past 2 weeks students have worked hard planning, building and eventually presenting their habitat dioramas. This was a fun learning opportunity for the students as well as a chance for them to show some creativity! Here are some of the works in progress as well as the finished projects. Last month we got creative in gym class with some dancing. Students got to create their own dance to one of 5 song choices, then had to present in front of the 2 grade 4 classes. I was very impressed with what they created. Way to go grade 4's!
