Charlotte's Web Reader's Theatre
This month, the students worked in groups to prepare and present their Reader's Theatre presentations of Charlotte's Web. The students really got creative with their costumes, and looked great! They even got the chance to present in front of several other classes. All the teachers were very impressed and couldn't say enough great things about the plays. Way to go guys!
Last week our class took part in a fun math lesson as part of a learning workshop for teachers. We welcomed Mr. Seaton, as well as Mme Marintette, Mme Charette and a few other teachers to our classroom where the students were given a math "challenge" to complete. The challenge required students to use the three "V's" Visualize, Verbalize, and Verify. Students really had to think, and talk about their thinking with their group members.
In Religion class we have been exploring our New Testament bibles quite a bit. We've been specifically focussing on Parables. The students have read several different parables and learned how Jesus used to relate things in everyday life to the Kingdom of God. Students worked with a partner on their "Parable project" where they had to read a parable, create a comic strip and present it to the class.
Here are some of the groups working on their "tableau" for a different parable study we did earlier in the month.
