It's been a busy first couple weeks in our class. The students are all getting nicely settled into the routines and procedures of our 4/5 class. Here is a small look at some of what we have been doing. In the first week of school, each students completed a puzzle piece to showcase their interests and some things about themselves. They all fit nicely on our Religion bulletin board to remind us that together we make a great team. In art class, students each created a "Personality Swirl". They had to divide their page into 10 sections. 5 of the sections would be for words describing themselves, the other 5 would be for their design. The words could be adjectives, sports, hobbies, names of pets etc. One of the sections had to be their name. I am so IMPRESSED with how they turned out! The students did a fabulous job. Here are just a few examples. The students have been learning all about numbers in math class. Grade 4's are learning to represent, compare, order and round numbers up to 10 000 and grade 5's are representing, comparing, ordering and rounding numbers up to 100 000. One of the ways students can represent numbers is by using the base ten blocks. To have a little practice drawing these base ten blocks, students were asked to create a Robot by choosing a number and drawing only the blocks that represented that number. Here are a few of the Robots hanging in our class.
