We had a fun afternoon on Friday with some science experimenting as well as the Clay Lady visit.

The students (and adults!) had a great time this week on our field trip to the Growing Chefs headquarters. They participated in several activities in addition to their food preparation, such as an outdoor garden scavenger hunt and decorating their dessert. The main event, however, was the food preparation. The students prepared a delicious lunch, which we all enjoyed. They made a butternut squash risotto, chicken soup, kale salad with apples and carrots, focaccia bread and even apple bars for dessert! We all ate our lunch in the big dining room, and I was impressed how many students tried eating something they had never tried before...and liked it! Way to go everyone!
Thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped make this morning a success. |
